Panasonic P55 NOVO smartphone with 13 MP rear camera, octa-core processor launched at Rs 9,290

Panasonic has launched the P55 NOVO smartphone at Rs 9,290 in India. The smartphone boasts of a 5.3-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. It has a 13 MP autofocus rear camera with triple-LED flash and a 5 MP front-facing camera with LED flash. The handset has a 1.4 GHz octa-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card slot. Panasonic had added features like Tap Play which wakes up the smartphone without pressing the physical power button. It also has Gesture Play which allows launching of apps via gestures. The device has an integrated infrared (IR) blaster that allows the handset to send various commands to the infrared-based TV, set-top box, air conditioners or any other such equipment with IR sensing capability.

Manish Sharma, Managing Director, Panasonic India stated during the launch:
"With consumer priorities changing radically, we believe in enhancing customer experience by providing them with smart technology on the go. With the new smartphone, we are here to offer a new dimension wherein the model has been specially designed to provide easy accessibility to consumers looking for a single app to control all home devices."
