1. Motorola Moto G 3rd Generation unveiled
Motorola has unveiled the third generation Moto G in India today. The company chose India to make the worldwide launch this time. Two versions of the phone priced at Rs 11,999 (1 GB RAM) / 12,999 (2 GB RAM) the smartphone will go on sale at midnight via ecommerce retailer Flipkart.
2. Infocus launches a range of smartphone, feature phones and a hybrid tablet in India
US based Infocus has launched a range of budget smartphones and a 2-in-1 hybrid tablet in the country starting at Rs 5,999. The company has also announced three new feature phones priced between Rs 700- Rs 1200.
3. Samsung Galaxy A8 to launch in India tomorrow
Samsung is launching its slimmest smartphone till date- the Galaxy A8 tomorrow in India. The smartphone has already been launched in South Korea and China earlier this month and features a 5.7 inch display, octa-core processor and runs Android 5.1.
4. Oxygen OS based OnePlus 2 launched at Rs 24,999
OnePlus has launched its next flagship smartphone- the OnePlus 2 globally today. The smartphone will be available via e commerce retailer Amazon from Aug 11.
5. Motorola announces Moto X Style and Pure Edition smartphones with 21MP camera
Motorola has announced two new smartphone- the Moto X Style and Pure Edition along with the Moto G 3rd Gen smartphone today. The Moto X Style and Pure Edition smartphones will feature a 5.7 inch display, 21MP rear camera and will come with Moto Maker tool.
6. Ola cabs to become app only
Ola cabs is going the Myntra way and will become app only in 100 cities in the country from next month. The Ola app is available for Android, iOS and Windows platforms.
7. Messaging app Viber acquires NextPeer
Popular messaging app Viber has acquired social gaming start-up nextpeer to add social networking features to its portal. The move will help Viber expand its services and increase user engagement in Viber Games.
8. Snapdeal launches mobile marketplace Shopo
E commerce giant Snapdeal has launched a new mobile based marketplace called Shopo, that will allow sellers to list and sell their products on the portal without paying any commission.
9. Amazon announces LaunchPad to showcase startup products
Amazon has announced a new LaunchPad page to help startups in marketing and distributing their products, with the help of Amazon's global network of warehouses.
Samsung has confirmed its unpacked event for August 13 in New York. The company is expected to unveil its latest Galaxy Note 5 as well as a new version of Galaxy S6 Edge at the event.
