Xiaomi cuts Redmi 2 smartphone price by Rs 4000


Xiaomi has reduced the price of the Xiaomi Redmi 2 smartphone to Rs. 5,999 starting Tuesday. The smartphone will be available via the company's online store (Mi.com) as well as on ecommerce retailers Flipkart, Amazon, and Snapdeal, The Mobile Store and Airtel retail stores across India at the reduced price.

Announcing the price cut, Xiaomi India in a press statement said, "Lower costs have enabled us to reduce the price of Redmi 2, and this translates into savings that Mi fans can enjoy."

Key Specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi 2 smartphone are:
Display: 4.7 inch IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution
Processor: 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor
Memory: 1 GB RAM, 8 GB inbuilt storage expandable up to 32 GB
Connectivity: Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) with dual standby, 3G, 4G, Bluetooth, USB, WiFi
Camera: 8 MP Autofocus rear camera, 2 MP front camera
OS: Android 4.4 with MIUI6
Battery: 2200 mAh
