1. Google is now owned by Alphabet
Google has undergone some radical restructuring and is now a part of new company called Alphabet. Larry Page announced in an official Google blog post that Google's new CEO will be Sundar Pichai and Larry will be CEO of Alphabet. 
2. Intex Cloud Pace smartphone launched for Rs 6,999
Intex has launched Cloud Pace 4G enabled smartphone for Rs 6,999 exclusively via Shophclues. The smartphone has a 4.5 inch display, 1.3 GHz quad-core processor with 2 GB RAM and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has 16GB inbuilt storage and comes with 64 GB micoSD expandable memory.

3. Ola to deliver on demand OnePlus 2
Ola has partnered with OnePlus 2 to provide an on demand experience to customers. The on-demand experience is available in Six cities across India including Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata. In Bengaluru and Chennai, this initiative will be available on 17th and 18th of August, in Hyderabad and Mumbai on 21st and 22nd and in Kolkata and Delhi on 25th and 26th of August.

4. Oppo Mirror 5 smartphone with Android 5.1 launched at Rs 15,990
Oppo has launched the Mirror 5 smartphone with a diamond-inspired multi-faceted rear panel at Rs 15,990. The Mirror 5 has a 5-inch TFT display and comes with supports gloved and wet touch input. It boasts of a quad-core qualcomm snapdragon processor and runs Android 5.1 based Color OS 2. It comes pre-loaded with Smart Remote Control app that is compatible with common household appliances like TV's, Ac's etc.

5. Panasonic Eluga Icon 4G enabled smartphone launched at Rs 10,999
Panasonic India has launched the Eluga Icon smartphone for Rs 10,999 exclusively via retailer Amazon. It has a 5.5-inch HD IPS display, an octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of inbuilt memory and runs Android 4.4

6. Google to launch new Android One smartphone in the sub 3K category
Google is reportedly planning to launch new Android One smartphones priced between Rs 2000- Rs 3000. The company is planning to reach the next five million with the new devices.

7. Xiaomi hosting MIUI 7 on Aug 19 in New Delhi
Xiaomi will be launching the MIUI 7 at a press event scheduled for the 19th of August in New Delhi. The company has announced that CEO Hugo Barra will be there giving users a closer look of what's new with the Android 5.1 based MIUI. 

8. Lenovo Zuk Z1 smartphone with massive 4100 mAh battery, USB Type C launched 
Lenovo has unveiled the Zuk Z1 smartphone with a  5.5-inch full-HD display and an integrated fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button. The Lenovo's Zuk Z1 comes with USB Type-C 3.0 port.

9. Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime 'MadeinIndia' smartphone launched for Rs 6,999
Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime is the company's first made in India smartphone. The device boasts of a 4.7 inch display, 1.2 GHz qualcomm snapdragon processor and Android 4.4 OS. It has an 8MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera. 
10. OnePlus 2 smartphone now available via invite only on Amazon
OnePlus 2 smartphone is now available via Amazon.in for Rs 22,999. The smartphone boasts of a Qualcomm-snapdragon processor and runs Android 5.1 based Oxygen OS. It has a 5.5 inch display, 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera.
