1. Reliance Jio launches 4G beta for its employees
Reliance has rolled out 4G data services for its 1 lakh employees in India for testing. The company is planning to extend the services to 5 lakh employees by September before the commercial launch of its 4G services in December. 


2. Samsung Metro B350E budget Dual-SIM smartphone launched for Rs 2650
Samsung launched the Metro B350E budget smartphone, boasts of dual-SIM support, 32 GB inbuilt storage and a 2 MP rear camera with LED flash. The smartphone is available on the Samsung India store. 

3. Microsoft new app can read out news
Microsoft is testing a new app that will review and sort the best news stories from the web and read out their summaries to the consumer by using text-to-speech technology. Users will be able to save articles for reading later and view it later trough a built-in browser. the app is aimed at commuters who want to know the latest news while driving and do not have the time to look at their smartphones.

4. FitBit launches new Windows 10 app with enhanced features
Fitbit has unveiled a new universal app for Windows 10 with live tile and Cortana support. The new app is designed to make it easier for developers to scale their apps across various screen sizes and also bring their platform to Xbox and HoloLens.

5. Mozilla tests a stealth mode for Firefox
Mozilla is testing an experimental tool that will block third parties like analytics and ad companies from tracking  users through cookies and browser fingerprinting. The company wants to make private browsing truly private with the new Stealth Mode. 

6. Security firm urges users to delete their phone numbers from Facebook
A flaw in social networking site Facebook allows users details including name, pictures, locations, etc be displayed just by putting their phone numbers in the search option. Security companies are urging users to not to list their phone numbers on their personal Facebook profiles. The flaw can be utilized by cyber criminals to gather personal data of users. 

7. Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime launched 
Xiaomi has launched its MiUI 7 based Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime in China. Both the devices are priced below Rs 10,000 and come with a 5.5 inch HD display, Mediatek helio octa-core processor and are backed by a 3060 Mah battery. the devices are expected to be launched in India on 19th Aug at a press event in New Delhi.  

8. Microsoft to help Andhra Pradesh get low cost internet
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has partnered with Software giant Microsoft to deliver low cost internet by utilizing unused TV spectrum in the TV White Space technology in rural areas.

9. Blackberry Porsche Design P’9983 Graphite launched at Rs 99,990
Blackberry has launched its sleekest smartphone till date called Porsche Design P’9983 Graphite at Rs 99,990. The smartphone boasts of Blackberry 10 OS and a 3.1 inch touch screen with a QWERTY keypad, a 2 MP front camera and an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash. It has a 1.5GHz Dual Core Qualcomm MSM8960 processor with 2 GB of RAM and 64GB internal memory. 

10. Net Neutrality- AIB urges users to post their comments online 
AIB is asking supporters of net neutrality to log on to mygov.in and register their comments on the entire debate. The govt has asked users to share their views on the site and has extended the date for adding comments till Aug 20.
