1. 16 Year old claims his search engine is 47pc more accurate than Google
A 16-year old Indian-origin Canadian citizen claims that his search engine is 47 percent more accurate than Google, and about 21 percent more accurate on an average. Anmol Tukrel had made the search engine as a part of the Google Science Fair, a global competition for students aged 13 to 18 years.

2. Charge your smartphones battery in 6 mins 
Researches have developed a new battery that could charge your cellphone in just six minutes. The battery was developed by researchers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Tsinghua University in Beijing and has four times the capacity of current lithium ion batteries and degrades less over time.

3. Micromax is reportedly developing its own OS
Micromax is reportedly developing its own forked Android-based Operating System similar to Xiaomi's MIUI or OnePlus' Oxygen OS. The new Micromax OS will be based on Google's latest Android Lollipop OS and will run across multiple platforms including smartphones, tablets, wearables and smart TVs.

4. Net Neutrality: IAMAI opposes zero-rating plans
The internet and mobile association of India has opposed zero-rated plans of any type stating that such plans will harm online content. The association also stated that the new plans will allow telcos to discriminate certain web services over others.

5. Micromax Canvas Nitro 4G E455 smartphone launched for Rs 10,430
Micromax has launched a new smartphone under the Nitro series called the Canvas Nitro 4G E455 for Rs 10,430. The smartphone has a 5-inch IPS display, 1.7 GHz octa-core processor Snapdragon processor, 13 MP autofocus rear camera and runs Android 5.0.

6. Zopo to launch Speed 7 smartphone in India on Aug 26
Zopo is expected to launch its flagship smartphone the Speed 7 in India on August 26. The Zopo Speed 7 smartphone has a 5 inch display, 1.5 GHz octa-core processor with 3GB RAM and runs Android 5.1. Priced at Rs 12,999 the Zopo Speed 7 smartphone will be available exclusively via online retailer and will also be available across retail stores in the country.

7. Uber teams up with Airtel to offer free 4G WiFi, mobile payments to customers
Uber has teamed up with mobile service provider to offer free WiFi 4G service and mobile payments to its customers. The service has been rolled out in Mumbai and will be launched across India soon.

8. Microsoft Windows 95 OS is 20 years old today
Microsoft's most popular OS Windows 95 was launched twenty years ago on 24 August 1995. "Computer use has become so widespread, and Microsoft's grip on the industry so powerful, that the introduction of Windows 95 took on the decibel level of a national event, almost a new August holiday that might be dubbed Bill Gates Day after Microsoft's billionaire president," said The New York Times in its Windows 95 launch story.

9. Swatch trademarks 'One more thing'
Swatch CEO has hinted at the launch of a new smartwatch and has been awarded trademark for ‘One More Thing’. The smartwatch is expecetd to be launched at the Rio Olympics next year.

10. Images of Huawei Nexus 2015 with 5.7 inch display surface online
Images of a Huawei made Nexus 2015 have surfaced online. The renders show the company's branding along with a fingerprint sensor and microphone.It has a large 5.7 inch screen, with two front facing speakers and a metal chassis. The smartphone is expected to come with USB Type C reversible port.
