1. Facebook reaches 1 billion users in a day milestone
Worlds biggest social networking site Facebook has crossed the 1 billion users in a milestone. The news was announced by the company's CEO Mark Zukerberg via a blog post of the social networking site.

2. Apple to launch the iPhone 6s, Apple TV and more on Sept 9 event
According to reports Apple is all set to launch its next iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus at the company's event on Sept 9. Apple will also launch the Apple TV at the event.

3. Vodafone to roll out 4G services by 2015 end
Vodafone India is joining the 4G battle and will be rolling out its 4G services by 2015 end in the country. Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Kochi will be part of the first wave of the roll out.

4. LG G4 smartphone with metallic color launched at Rs 40,000
LG has launched a new metallic color variant for its latest LG G4 smartphone at Rs 40,000 in India. The G4 has a 5.5-inch display, qualcomm processor with 3GB RAM and Android 5.0. The device will now be available in Titanium Black and Gold versions. 

5. Swipe Ace 3G voice-calling tablet launched at Rs. 7,299 
Swipe Technologies has launched a new 3G-enabled tablet, the Ace at Rs. 7,299. The tablet supports dual sim and 3G voice calling. The Swipe Ace tablet will be available via popular online e-commerce websites including Amazon, Flipkart, and Snapdeal.

6. Airtel buys Augere Wireless for 4G spectrum
India's largest mobile operator Bharti Airtel has acquired Augere Wireless for an undisclosed sum to help bolster its 4G spectrum holdings in preparation for competition from Reliance Jio.

7. Sony Xperia Z5 pictures surface ahead of IFA launch
Images of Sony's upcoming flagship smartphone the Xperia Z5 have reportedly leaked accidentally by the company in press renders ahead of its September 2 event. Sony is expected to unveil the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and Xperia Z5 Premium at the event.

8. Instagram now lets you shoot in landscape mode
Instagram has added new landscape mode for pictures and videos in a bid to attract more advertisers to its site. The move will help the company compete with rival Snapchat.

9. Rumor: Xiaomi working on its own processor
According to rumors, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is planning to abandon Qualcomm to launch its own in-house processors for its smartphones in 2016. The move will allow the company to make even cheaper handsets, while maximizing profits.

10. Delhi govt rejects Ola's Licence application
The Delhi government has again rejected Ola's application for a licence to run its taxi service in the capital. A government official stated, "The Transport department has asked the company that if it wants to apply afresh for getting license, it can again apply under newly-introduced 'City Taxi Scheme' 2015. Government will only entertain the Ola's fresh application under new taxi scheme if it submits the certified copy of undertaking to be deposited in the High Court along with their application."
