1. Samsung cuts the prices of flagship Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones
Samsung has officially reduced the prices of its flagship smartphones the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge globally. The company has been losing its market share continuously and has reduced the prices of its devices in order to get more customers.

2. Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime smartphone to launch on Aug 10
Xiaomi will be launching the Xiaomi Rredmi 2 Prime with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage on Aug 10 in the country. The company also plans to expand its presence in physical stores and is in talks with distributors to sell its smartphones. According to reports Xiaomi will make an announcement as soon as next week.   

3. Asus Zenpad 7 and 8 to launch in India
Asus is planning to launch its Zenpad 7 and 8 in India soon. The 8-inch ZenPad 8.0 will be priced at Rs. 14,999 and the smaller 7-inch ZenPad 7.0 will be priced at Rs. 11,999. The devices are powered by Intel Atom processor and run Android 5.0. It competes with the 12inch Xiaomi MiPad available for Rs 12,999. 

4. LG cuts the prices of G4, G5 Stylus smartphones
LG has reduced the prices of its flagship G4 and G4 Stylus in India. The LG G4 is now available at Rs 40,000 and the leather back version of the smartphone costs Rs 45,000. The LG G4 Stylus is now available for Rs 21,000 after the cut. 

5. Acer launches new range of Windows 10 laptops starting at Rs 26,499
Acer has announced new Windows 10 based laptops in the country starting at Rs 26,499. The Acer Aspire E5-573 will be available at Rs 26,499, the Acer Aspire V Nitro-Black Edition will be available for Rs 1,10,000 and the Acer Aspire R13 is priced at Rs 89,999.

6. India is the 9th most affected by ramsomware attacks
A recent report by Symantec has revealed that India is the ninth most affected region by ransomware among with countries like the US, Japan, the UK, Italy and Germany. The report also stated that connected devices like wearables and the Internet of Things will be the next target of ransomware attacks.

7. Microsoft launches Outlook Email client for Apple watch
Microsoft has been trying to sell its services to rival platforms by releasing new apps for Android and iOS mobile and smartwatch platforms. The company has now launched a version of its email client Outlook for the Apple Watch, and its Translator app for the Apple Watch and Android Wear smartwatches. 

8. Vodafone announces double data offer prepaid-users in Mumbai
Vodafone India has announced a new Double Data scheme for its prepaid users in Mumbai, so customers will now get twice the data that they pay for, thereby reducing the data rates to half. This is a part of the company's strategy to encourage 2G customers to switch to 3G.

9. Flipkart announces Freedom Sale
Flipkart has launched The Freedom Sale where it is offering great deals on smartphones and tablets including the Google Nexus 6, Samsung Galaxy S5, Xiaomi Mi Pad, Asus Zenfone 2, Motorola Moto G 2nd gen and more. These offers are available through Flipkart's mobile app.
