1. Micromax Bolt Q339 smartphone with 4.5 inch display launched
Micromax has launched the Bolt Q339 smartphone in India for Rs 3499. The budget smartphone supports dual-SIM (GSM+GSM), 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. 

2. TRAI to sumbit compensation plan for call drops by Oct 15
The Modi government has directed TRAI to submit a compensating consumers for call drops by Oct 15.  

3. Google celebrated Annie Besant's 168th birth anniversary with a Doodle
Today's Google Doodle celebrated the 168th birth anniversary of the first woman president of Indian National Congress Annie Besant. The doodle shows Besant, sitting on a chair with the newspaper she started in the country, 'New India'.

4. Government asks telecos to install mobile towers
The govt has directed telecos to install additional mobile towers to deal with the issue of call drops and improve service.

5. IAMAI launches Mobile 10X to encourage mobile app development in India
IAMAI has partnered with Google India and Paytmto launch the 'Mobile10X' initiative to boost the mobile app segment revenue to Rs 10,000 crore from the current Rs 1,000 crore. The program will help to educate, engage, evangelize and enable students as well the mobile app developers.

6. Apple is making over $500 on iPhone 6s Plus sales
Apple is making iPhones at $236 and is selling them at $749, making over $500 in profits. However these estimates dont include shipping, warehousing, marketing, research and development for the iPhones.

7. Microsoft and Google settle patent disputes
Microsoft and Google have settled 18 pending patent infringement litigation against each other in the United States and Germany. The companies said in a joint statement. "Google and Microsoft have agreed to collaborate on certain patent matters and anticipate working together in other areas in the future to benefit our customers."

8. LG says smartphone sales will improve in Q4, 2015
LG says that its expects its smartphone sales to improve in Q4, 2015. LG mobile division chief Juno Cho stated at the V10 launch event that 'the firm will use the high-end device as well as new mid-to-low tier products to boost market share'. 

9. Mushrooms could power smartphones one day
Researchers have developed a new lithium-ion battery anode that users inexpensive portabella mushrooms that could power future smartphones. The new battery will be inexpensive, environmentally friendly and easy to produce.

10. Satya Nadella to visit India in November
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will be coming to India for an event in Mumbai for its customers, partners and developers. Nadella will speak at the event titled 'Future Unleashed' and will meet key Microsoft customers.
