Samsung galaxy ON series – The affordable smartphones for everyday entertainment

South Korean giant Samsung Electronics has unveiled its latest Galaxy On5 and On7 series smartphones in India on Nov 3, 2015.

The new Samsung Galaxy On7 has a 5.5-inch HD display and runs Android v5.1 Lollipop OS. It is powered by the Snapdragon 410 quad core processor coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM. Connectivity wise the device comes with dual SIM with 4G LTE network support. It comes with a 13MP AF rear camera and a 5MP front snapper.

The Galaxy On7 was launched along with the Samsung Galaxy On5, which is almost similar except smaller 5 inch display size, Exynos 3475 processor and a lower resolution 8 MP rear camera. The main attraction of these phones is that both of them have a metallic side frame which makes them strong enough to hold and use, and have perforated plastic rear panel with a weight of 172 gms, thus giving them a good look and vibe. To begin with they are being launched in Black and Gold colours.

Built for the everyday entertainment like playing video games, downloading HD videos, to preloaded apps like Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, etc. it is mainly targeting the young consumers with a fixed budget, who need superfast browsing. Plus it has special features like BIG HD resolution screen, 13.97cm (5.5) HD,16m colour display to deliver exceptional visuals, mix radio to get an access to over 30 million tracks and offline music with the preloaded mix radio and 8 GB of internal storage which can be expanded to an additional 128 GB using a microSD card. Backed with a powerful battery it has a standby talk time of up to 11 hrs.

Samsung has added some interesting quick access features like you open the phone’s camera by double tapping the home button from any screen, thus enabling instant clicking and uploading. You can also take selfies quickly by showing your palm as a gesture.

Samsung has launched both the models during the festival season and at an ultimate price of Rs 8,990 and 10,990 respectively and is expected to promote and market them on a large scale.

With the Galaxy On5 and On7, Samsung is planning to get a bigger share of the budget and lower mid-range segment smartphones consumers, as the devices offer a perfect mix of affordable price and smart features.
