Huawei GX8 unveiled, features 13 MP auto focus camera and a finger print reader

Huawei has launched another smartphone, Huawei GX 8, at CES 2016. The smartphone is another addition in the mid –range segment, from the Chinese manufacturer, which will go on sale via the company’s own website, online portal Amazon and other retail stores.

Running on android 5.1 lollipop operating system with a layer of Emotion UI 3.1 on top of it, the device gets its power from 1.5 GHz octa core qualcomm snapdragon 615 chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM.  On the storage front, it has an internal memory of 16 GB, expandable further up to 128 GB via micro SD card. The device boasts of a 5.5 inch full HD touch screen display of resolution  (1080x1920) and 401 pixel density. The phone is slimmer with just 7.5 mm thickness and weighs 167 gms.

Camera wise, it sports a 13MP auto focus primary camera with OIS and  LED flash and a 5 MP sensor placed upfront shooter camera for selfies and video calls. The back also packs a finger print reader. The in built sensors include accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light and proximity sensor. Huawei GX 8 is a single SIM device accepting a Micro- Sim and hosting a bundle of connectivity features like 3G, 4G, Wi fi 802.11 ac, Micro USB connectivity, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth and 3.5mm stereo audio jack. Stand out features include an integration of theme Engine for powerful customization and knuckle gesture support to draw gestures from your knuckles. A 3000 mAh non removable battery completes the package.

Available in silver, grey and gold color options, the handset will be available by the end of this quarter for an approx. amount of Rs23,357.
