Asus ZenFone 3 Max launched in India in two variants

The telecom brand Asus creates headlines by launching its all new ZenFone 3 Max in India. Coming in two variants, the device shall be available in colour variants of Titanium grey, sand gold and glacier silver.

The first one named as ZC520TL is a 5.2-inch display model that comes with a price tag of Rs 12,999. The second one, known as ZC553KL has a 5.5. inch display screen and comes with a price tag  of Rs 17,999. While the former is available for purchase 10th November onwards across all retail stores and e-tailers, the latter will go on sale from November end.

What is common for both the variants is their similar design, hybrid dual-SIM that supports both Micro and Nano SIM, and a fingerprint scanner attached to the rear of the gadget. Both the variants run on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow O.S layered with the company’s ZENUI 3.0 skin on top of it.

The highlight of this smartphone is its large size 4100mAh battery that allows the device to work as a power bank. For the 5.2 inch model, the battery promises to deliver 20 hours of 3G talk time and up to 30 days of 4G standby time. Whereas on the 5.5-inch model, it promises to deliver 17 hours of 3G talk time and  up to 38 days of 4G standby time.

Coming over to the specifications of each variant, ZC553KL supports a 5.5-inch full-HD display screen with (1080x1920 pixels). It gets its power from a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable up to 128GB using a micro SD card. The camera features include a 16MP camera on the rear with a f/2.0 aperture, dual-LED flash, and an 8-MP front shooter with a f/2.2 aperture and an 84-degree wide-angle lens. The device measures 151.4x76.24x8.3mm and weighs 175 gms. A host of connectivity options available includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 4G-LTE, GPS, Micro-USB, Bluetooth v4.1, and FM radio. The inbuilt sensors are ambient light, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor and magnetometer.

The second variant, ZenFone 3 Max (ZC520TL) flaunts a 5.2-inch HD display (720x1280 pixels) measures 149.5x73.7x8.55mm. Weighing light at 148 grams, the smartphone gets its power from a 1.25GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737T processor that comes coupled with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB of internal memory expandable up to 32GB via a micro SD card. The device houses a 13MP camera on the rear and a 5MP selfie-shooter on the front for crisp and clear selfies. Connectivity options included are Micro-USB, 4G LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, FM radio and Bluetooth v4.0. Inbuilt sensors provided are a gyroscope, ambient light sensor, an accelerometer, and a proximity sensor.

Overall both the variants are expected to make a silent noise in the smartphone market with their long lasting battery life, dependable hardware, vibrant display features, good audio quality and excellent design and built. With its premium looks and design, it is a brilliant and affordable phone that is worth a purchase. It's pretty decent camera will make all the smartphone photographers  happy.
